The Worlds of Tech and Ed - Bridging the Divide

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

How often have you heard teachers complain that technology professionals don't understand the impact their activities have on their curricular plans? Conversely, how about technology professionals expressing frustration with lack of educator cooperation or with being viewed as less than an integral part of a functioning school? In this session, we will explore these issues and discuss ways to ensure professionals from both backgrounds can better understand each other and work together more effectively. Ultimately, this is critical because the impact of technology in education will only continue to increase and our efforts to foster collegial relationships will only result in higher quality educational experiences for the students we ultimately serve.

I am the director of educational technology at The Branson School. I have taught high school science for 14 years both in the Bay Area and in Hawaii. I have spent many years exploring ways to enhance my own curriculum with technology and assisting other educators with their technology initiatives. Curricular goals come first and technology supports where appropriate.
